For me this meant going on a 9-day cruise through the Southern Caribbean (thanks mom). I had the opportunity to go zip-lining for the first time in Haiti (bucket list), snorkeling over a shipwreck in Aruba, but most importantly - I was able to relax and be without responsibility for the first time in IDK maybe 6 years? The icing on the cake... I received my PANCE results while at sea. Talk about a celebration.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the best at this. I let life get in the way of spending time with the people who support me the most. Use your time off to reconnect with friends and family that you may have neglected during PA school. Go out to dinner, make them your gym buddy for the day, or heck even call them up to chat.

Enter @myPAbox and @varsitytutors. You’ll have a lot of down time while looking for a job. Find a couple of hobbies or side gigs that you legitimately enjoy. It’s helpful if these ventures also make you a little cash. Finances can be tight as your loans start to run out. Future employers also love to ask what you’ve been doing with your time off. It helps to have something to say instead of admitting to binge watching Netflix shows, making frequent TJ Maxx runs, and checking your email 800x a day in hopes of a job opportunity. #GUILTY
How do you plan on spending your time off? Do you have any exciting adventures in the works?
Disclaimer: this post was written before COVID-19 swept our world. Traveling, spending time with friends and family, and making money outside of our homes are all exponentially more difficult. I pray that those of you who have recently graduated and will start working in the coming months have the opportunity to relax in one way or another, although it may not look anything like you had imagined. My heart goes out to you. I'm in the job hunting phase right along side of you. We're in this together.
