Over the last 2 weeks, I've had multiple potential employers express the need press pause on the progress we have made due to the initiation of hiring freezes. Interviews, job shadowing, and contract negotiations have been postponed indefinitely. The momentum that I have gained has suddenly came to a standstill, with no clear end in sight.

▫️Elective surgeries are being postponed or cancelled
▫️The hospital census is down... for now
▫️Healthcare administrators are overwhelmed with more pressing issues (hiring not being one of them)

▫️Keeping in close contact with the potential employers that I've established relationships with - sending an email every couple of weeks to check on the status and express continued interest
▫️Monitoring job boards for new postings - keeping an eye out for COVID-19 related needs in my area
▫️Completing online CME courses, particularly in COVID-19-related topics to stay up to date just in case my new grad expertise is needed
▫️Taking advantage of this time off - tackling my quarantine bucket list one item at a time
▫️Appreciating the health of myself and my family, giving thanks to those who put themselves at risk to take care of those in need
How has COVID-19 impacted your employment status? How are you coping with it?
