HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY (INSERT UNPLEASANT VERB) FROM HOME⁣

Whether you're in undergrad, grad school, or the workforce, there's a pretty good chance you've been forced to #WFH in some fashion. Here are a few ideas to help make it more bearable: ⁣

𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐀 𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 - Clean off your desk or coffee table, light a candle, and grab your favorite blanket. Make your space one that you're excited to be in. ⁣

𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐒 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐏𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐋𝐘 - I'm not a fan of the "dress the part" concept. You'll catch me doing my best work in my joggers and an oversized tee. Regardless, dress the way that makes you feel the most productive. If that's jeans or business casual, more power to ya!⁣

𝐌𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐀 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃𝐔𝐋𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐊𝐄𝐄𝐏 𝐀 𝐓𝐎-𝐃𝐎 𝐋𝐈𝐒𝐓 - By now you probably know that my love language takes the form of a to-do list. Hold yourself accountable. Trap those fleeting thoughts on a piece of paper. Write your assignments or projects on a calendar. Give yourself the satisfaction of crossing off your accomplishments.⁣

𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍 𝐎𝐍 𝗪𝐇𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐍𝐎𝐈𝐒𝐄 𝐎𝐑 𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐂 - My brain doesn't function properly (or at all) with auditory distractions. Whether it's barking dogs or the TV, Spotify's "White Noise" playlist comes in clutch quite often.⁣

𝐏𝐔𝐓 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌 𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐍 𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐍𝐃 - Allow yourself to check your phone every hour or so as a reward for being productive. Otherwise, hit that DND and stay off the gram.⁣

𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊𝐒 - Our bodies were not designed to sit at a desk for 8 hours straight. Set an hourly alarm to get up and move. If you're lucky enough to have an Apple Watch, take its suggestions and stand up (even if it's only long enough to get that stand hour).⁣

𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐍 𝐕𝐈𝐑𝐓𝐔𝐀𝐋 𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝗪𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐋𝐀𝐒𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐒/𝐏𝐄𝐄𝐑𝐒/𝐂𝐎𝗪𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒 - Stay connected. Check in with your people. Social distancing doesn't have to mean complete isolation.⁣

How have you adjusted to working/learning from home? What's your go-to productivity hack?
