𝐈’𝐌 𝐃𝐄𝐄𝐉𝐀𝐘, a newly graduated PA-C.
➖I’m a mother of 2 doodles, lover of Jesus, big proponent of all things health/wellness, and avid lifting enthusiast. This post-grad school/pre-employment phase of my life is brought to you in part by coffee, tacos, and dry shampoo.
➖Born and raised in Ohio, I consider myself a small-town girl. I spent much of my childhood at the racetrack where I started drag racing at the age of 3.
➖I attended undergrad at Miami University (LOVE & HONOR), where I earned my B.S. in Kinesiology and served as the president of the pre-PA club.
➖Prior to beginning PA school, I worked as a NA/health unit coordinator in an ED, a PCA at an assisted living facility, and a secretary/assistant at a plastic surgery office.
➖Immediately following undergrad, I attended PA school at the University of Dayton where I graduated in December of 2019. Shortly thereafter, I took the PANCE and PASSED!
➖While job hunting, I picked up a couple of side gigs including tutoring for the PANCE and creating content for@mypabox. These experiences reignited my passion for education and inspired me to create this account, devoted to providing mentorship, support, and advocacy for my current and future PA colleagues.
➖I had full intentions of waiting to publish this account until I accepted a position as a physician assistant. I doubted my legitimacy as an PA mentor because I hadn’t landed a job yet. Can you say #impostersyndrome? I’ve come to the realization that waiting to share my journey until I feel “adequate” reenforces unrealistic expectations. Instead, I intend to use this platform as an outlet for providing transparency and guidance to those in similar situations. Life doesn’t always go the way that you planned it and that’s okay.
