𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏 𝐎𝐍𝐄: 𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐇𝐄𝐍𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄, 𝐀𝐋𝐋-𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐒𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐎 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐒 “(𝐍𝐀𝐌𝐄) 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄 (𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑).”⁣

Check out the FREE RESUME TEMPLATE that I created if you’re struggling with where to start. Link at the bottom of this post.⁣

EDUCATION⁣

Include your undergraduate and master’s degrees. If still in progress, include your anticipated graduation date. ⁣

PERTINENT ROTATIONS⁣

Include every rotation that you have completed, along with pertinent procedures and skills performed. We will narrow this down later. ⁣

WORK EXPERIENCE⁣

Include all prior healthcare related work from undergrad until now. Again, we’ll narrow this down later. ⁣

VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE⁣

Include medical and non-medical volunteer experience from undergrad until now.⁣

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURE⁣

Include NCCPA certification status (taking the PANCE on ___ or NCCPA board certified), state licensure (in progress or state of ___ PA licensure), and BLS/ACLS/PALS.⁣

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS⁣

Include AAPA, state PA organizations, leadership positions in PA school or in pre-PA club/medical orgs in undergrad.⁣

REFERENCES ⁣

“Available upon request.”⁣

PERTIENTENT ROTATIONS⁣

Think about setting (inpatient vs. outpatient vs. OR), management of care (acute vs. chronic), patient population, and any cross over in knowledge. If I’m applying for a job in family medicine, I include the following rotations: family medicine, internal medicine, and emergency medicine.⁣

WORK EXPERIENCE⁣

Determine whether your prior work experience is applicable. If I’m applying for a job in the emergency department, I include my experience as a NA/HUC in the ED but will likely leave out my job as a PCA in an ALF. ⁣

Check out my prior post, REVAMP YOUR RESUME (OR CV), for more tips and tricks. Thoughts, questions, concerns? Let me know.
