𝗪𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐃𝐎𝐄𝐒 𝐈𝐓 𝐓𝐀𝐊𝐄 𝐓𝐎 𝐁𝐄𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐀𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐍 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐏𝐀-𝐂 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐒?
-Pass the PANCE
-Pass the PANRE every 10 yrs (this may be changing)
-Earn 100 CME credits + pay certification maintenance fees ($180) every 2 yrs
𝐋𝐄𝐓’𝐒 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐃𝐎𝗪𝐍 𝐂𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐑𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒:
-100 CME credits each cycle - at least 50 Category I CME
-Earned May 1 of year current certification was issued through Dec 31 of year of expiration
-First time certified PAs may earn/log CME from date certification was issued through Dec 31 of year of expiration
Category I CME
1. Regular – organizations recognized by NCCPA
2. Certification/Recertification Programs
3. Performance Improvement (PI-CME) *first 20 credits doubled* – systematic approach to planning, implementing, and assessing quality improvement in the clinical practice setting
4. Self-assessment *50% additional credit* – systematic review of one’s own performance, knowledge base, or skill set to improve future performance, expand knowledge, and hone skills
